Worked in the laboratory of Prof. Brent Fultz from July 2015 - December 2016, during which time I coauthored an international review paper on hydrogen absorption measurements, and a patent on the development of a high-capacity nickel-metal hydride battery.After that I switched into Prof. Julia Greer's lab, and worked on a variety of projects which mostly centered around mechanical characterization of materials. My thesis work helped to develop new in-situ techniques for studying small-scale fracture mechanicals of conventional and architected materials on the micron scale, and was the first investigation of the mechanical properties of frozen benzene at cryogenic temperatures. I became a point of contact for microscopy questions, training new students, and I managed two undergraduate summer projects.Thesis title: Mechanical Investigations: Fracture Techniques and Frozen Small-Molecule Organics

Lived in an undergraduate house of around 80 students to foster community, plan events, provide academic guidance, and council students through various struggles.

I held office hours to further explanations given in class, lead laboratory experiments, graded assignments, and gave several full class lectures.• Diffraction, Imaging, and Structure (TEM lab) - 4 quarters• Mechanical Behavior of Materials - 1 quarter• Imperfections in Crystals - 1 quarter

Assisted in moving boxes, furniture, and driving a box truck for local moves.

Conducted research focused on electroceramics. Learned traditional powder-based solid state processing, basics of glass formation, and to characterize piezoelectric constants, dielectric constants, DSC/TGA, X-ray diffraction, indentation, SEM/EDS, and XPS.
