At various times in my life, I've wanted to be an artist, musician, architect, writer, and inventor. What I've landed on is computer scientist and programmer. One of the reasons I love programming is that, to some degree, it allows me to be all those things I've wanted to be. I love that code can be a vessel for creativity and discovery; that it unlocks the power to build things that are useful, and also things that are beautiful. I've always been curious, with a deep desire to learn and understand, and that led me to graduate school where I've studied computer science, particularly computer vision and deep learning. From my perspective, these disciplines are all about finding patterns in the rich and complicated data that makes up our lives, and harnessing those patterns in order to make life better. These technologies have been used to make amazing things, and I'm excited for what is still to come!In the course of my studies and research, I've developed the ability to write code and build systems to solve complex problems. I have a strong background in python, and I've developed across the spectrum; from web applications to CUDA kernels. I'm always looking for interesting problems to solve, and for ways to optimize my code (not prematurely, of course).I'm currently seeking opportunites to work on meaningful projects, ideally in a research roll.
