Caesar Alvarez is a native of New Mexico. Originally from Lordsburg a small community in the bootheel of the state, where he learned his community-oriented approach and passion for service. Currently he is living in Las Cruces and serving local families as an Assistant Principal for Las Cruces Public Schools, where he continues to utilize his core values to serve. Mr. Alvarez has a diverse professional background that his provided him with an abundance of experience. He has experience as a teacher with Lordsburg Municipal Schools where he taught Science for Dugan Tarango Middle School (DTMS) and Central Elementary School (CES). During his time at Lordsburg Municipal Schools, He was a part of crucial committees and teams that was amongst the important at Lordsburg Municipal Schools, such as the leadership team, budget committee, equity council, STEAMing Ahead NM Site Facilitator, and served as DTMS/ CES safety team coordinator. Mr. Alvarez also had the privilege of serving as a community leader as he served as the Mayor Pro–Tempore for the City of Lordsburg. During his time as a City Councilor/ Mayor Pro- Tempore, he had the experience of developing/ establishing policy and procedure, consulting with City Attorneys, following procurement law, budgeting, community outreach, and regularly assisted with the human resources aspect of City business. Before his educational career, Mr. Alvarez was a fully certified law enforcement officer for the county of Hidalgo for three years. Mr. Alvarez attended and successfully graduated from the basic law enrolment academy in Santa Fe, NM. He is also a New Mexico State University Graduate, where he received his bachelorette degree in Criminal Justice. Mr. Alvarez also graduated from Western New Mexico University with his master’s in education leadership. Mr. Alvarez is currently attending the 4 Corners Latinx Leadership Academy which is a program aimed at nurturing the next generation of Latinx executive leaders in education, including executive directors, assistant superintendents, chief officers, etc. The program hosted by ALAS (Association of Latino/a Administrators and Superintendents). Mr. Alvarez also has the honor and the privilege to be selected to be part of ALAS de Nuevo Mexico as he is the board member that represents Southern New Mexico. Mr. Alvarez hold himself to high expectations and feels empathy, accountability, consistency, trustworthiness, and integrity amongst the priority of his core values.
