-Float to 20 different units between 2 hospitals depending on staffing needs-Adapt to the differing levels of patient acuity between the 20 units, including ICUs, Trauma, Emergency Room, PACU, and PCUs-Adjust to the various work environments on each unit and within each hospital-Exemplify the outgoing and professional communication skills needed to adapt to each unit-Maintain scheduling flexibility as patient assignments may change as frequently as every 4 hours during each shift-Manage various intravenous medication drips to ensure the stability and comfort of the patient-Assist in procedures such as placing central lines, EVDs, tracheostomies, chest tubes, intubations, and manual fracture reduction-Recover patients from anesthesia after surgical procedures-Respond to codes and provide advanced life support-Monitoring the respiratory status of intubated and trached patients-Manage and replace electrolytes and fluids-Checking and maintaining hemodynamic stability through arterial, central venous, intracranial, and pulmonary artery pressures-Facilitate communication between medical staff, patients and families-Advocate for the patients, especially for those who are unable to voice their own concerns

-Assess the neurological status of critically ill stroke, aneurysm, brain bleed, spinal injury and trauma patients-Identify the signs and symptoms of worsening neurological status-Manage various intravenous medication drips to ensure the stability and comfort of the patient-Assist in procedures such as placing central lines, EVDs, tracheostomies, intubations, and manual spinal fracture reduction-Facilitate communication between medical staff, patients and families-Advocate for the patients, especially for those who are unable to voice their own concerns-Respond to codes and provide advanced life support-Monitoring the respiratory status of intubated and trached patients-Manage and replace electrolytes and fluids-Checking and maintaining hemodynamic stability through arterial, central venous, intracranial, and pulmonary artery pressures

-Respond to pages on nights, weekends and holidays regarding inpatient clinical research patients -Screen and consent eligible patients for research participation-Assist in medical management of enrolled patients utilizing the protocol-Collaborate with neurosurgeons and intensivists to screen and treat eligible patients-Maintain IRB compliance

-Identify and screen eligible patients for participation in pharmaceutical research studies-Schedule visits between patients, neurologists, and myself-Collect blood and urine sample for laboratory analysis-Maintain IRB compliance-Facilitate the management of patient care both during visits and between them-Establish a rapport with patients and caregivers in order to facilitate the best care possible-Instruct a bi-annual phlebotomy certification class to coworkers

-Research an implantable epilepsy device that was FDA approved in early 2014 -Coordinate patient visits with patients, neurologists, and myself -Help assess and treat patients both during visits and in between clinic visits -Assist in interrogating implanted research devices -Complete paperwork necessary for IRB compliance -Communicate with neurologists on behalf of the research patients -Monitor patient devices and coordinate battery replacement and/or changes in the device’s settings when needed

-Host patients in the neurology outpatient clinic while completing their visits -Perform patient EKGs, phlebotomy and processing blood samples-Complete protocol amendments at request of sponsor-Screen eligible patients for accruing studies through analysis of medical history -Responsible for entering data-Spearhead digitizing of all hard copies of regulatory and study data
