I'd describe myself as a firecracker. I'm continuously curious and have an insatiable fascination with the built world. It's what led me to pursue science, engineering, and ultimately design. Through my UX design education at The Glasgow School of Art, I have acquired a solid foundation in design thinking, user experience, and project management. During my academic journey, I have successfully collaborated on diverse projects in accessibility, education, and wellbeing that required interdisciplinary skills, demonstrating my ability to adapt to new challenges and work in a dynamic environment. There, I honed my skills in managing data-centric projects, working with complex interdisciplinary concepts. My coursework and life experiences taught me how to brainstorm creative partnerships and initiatives and apply insights to quantitative and qualitative data. I am a master at thinking outside-the-box and rising to the occasion without being asked. My previous experience in chemical engineering has equipped me with a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. In my role as a patent examiner at the US Patent and Trademark Office, I was required to learn the complex laws and procedures behind patent examining and apply a close attention to detail in technical literature and drawings. The reason why I left engineering is because though engineers are told to think outside the box, you still have to obey the laws of science and that felt like a limitation for my ideas. With design you can think even further and great ideas are always outside the box and that's definitely where I belong. I always find the need to keep myself busy by learning knew skills and reading about the world. I'm a self-taught anthropologist and natural born artist. I've become a world traveler traveling to 3 different continents. Through all of this outside-of-the-classroom learning, I've learned about how different people operate and approach tasks and responsibilities. It has given me insight into the human experience and the infinite variations of it. And it has exposed me to different design strategies that are useful when approaching problems from a new angle.
