Hello, my name is Cal Smith,I am studying Finance at the University of Oklahoma on the Pre-Law tract and plan to graduate in May of 2027. I have chosen to study Finance while on the Pre-Law tract in order to better understand complex financial systems which could help me address challenges across various legal fields. I am also motivated to have the ability to tackle issues in the legal environment from an economic and practical standpoint in order to utilize a unique background and bring added value to my future employer and clients. During my time at OU I have not only excelled academically and maintained a 4.0 GPA but also sought out various leadership and business focused opportunities. One such serving as a student ambassador for the Office of the President through the Crimson Club. This position has allowed me to understand what it means to represent the ideals of an organization and exemplify the high standards of the University to honored guests. As a Candidate Associate for the JCPenney Leadership Program I have worked to develop my business communication skills and network with professionals on campus and out. Further, I have worked as a consultant for the Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth, giving me experience in financial modeling, market segmentation, and business plan generation. This past summer I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Italy, where I gained increased cross cultural proficiency and forged connections with other student leaders through the President’s Leadership Class. When I returned to the USA I was honored to be selected to represent my fraternity chapter at the national level in Cleveland and work with delegates from our 150 chapters across the country to meet the needs of members from all backgrounds.My top five strengths, according to Gallup StrengthFinder, are:1.
