About Caleb Alexander
I have over 17 years of experience in the financial sector. I began in the branch network and worked my way up to a leadership role. I gained experience with traditional banking, client service, personnel management, risk management, credit underwriting, financial analysis, training, sales, and reporting.I then moved into retail credit underwriting to continue to develop my credit and financial analysis skillset. I was then given the opportunity to join the commercial team to focus on risk mitigation, primarily for the commercial credit card portfolio. At the end of my tenure in that role I was responsible for the performance of the commercial card portfolio of both BB&T and SunTrust undergoing a merger to become Truist. As I excelled in risk, I moved into a first line of defense role supporting the Consumer and Small Business Banking division of Truist. During that time, I was responsible for various risk programs and governance across the division, including third party risk management, model risk management, and issues management. My final focus was with our Marketing, Digital, and Client Advocacy business partners to help identify, document, and develop issue drafts and remediation plans. The CSBB's issue governance program was highly rated as a gold standard for the institution. Due to this success, I transitioned to program execution for our second line of defense. My focus currently lies with issue validation. I work closely with second line partners, consultants, audit, regulatory relations, and business lines. A chief responsibility is to provide effective challenge while ensuring all evidence is satisfactory to support timely closure of outstanding issues.Additionally, I am involved in multiple groups supporting DEI initiatives at the company, previously serving on the leadership steering committee for Disability@Truist. I have recently accepted a volunteer role as a Communications Lead for Truist's Enterprise Strategic Initiatives Team. My goal is to constantly pursue growth on both a personal and professional level. I define that as pursuing opportunities that foster education, development, and growth opportunities.
