Over the last three years, I have held four job positions all in the service industry. Communication is a strong suit of mine, therefore I perform best in positions involving direct interaction with consumers. My first job was a takeout window and phone operator for a local diner. I worked at this diner for three months during the summer and learned a lot about public interaction through this position. I also was introduced to a team setting and how to operate efficiently as a team within the workplace. Later that year, I was given the opportunity to be on the starting team for an outdoor wedding venue. For the last three years, I have worked my way up to lead consultant of operations within the venue where I work along side the owners and another team lead. My job is to lead my crew in organizing and arranging the ceremony and reception sites, guide guests in parking, and any other operations needed around the venue. I believe this has been the most impactful job position I have held thus far, as it has taught me how to lead a team effectively and strengthened my interaction skills with customers. From February 2021 to June 2021, I held two positions at Lowes Foods in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. During my time there, I worked as both a cashier and a backroom stocker. Customer interaction was a big part in both of these jobs and allowed me to communicate with the customers which I enjoyed. I had previous experience working with transactions at the diner back in 2018 which helped here at Lowes, but working in the backroom allowed me to experience a new atmosphere and learn different skills. Overall, I had a great experience at Lowes and my time here allowed me to expand my communication skills which will help later in life.At the start of this year, I was hired on as a mover for Undergrads. In the little experience I have there, I can say without a doubt this will be a fantastic experience and I will be able to continuously grow my skills of one on one interaction with customers and customer service. Undergrads prides themselves on exceptional customer service which attracted me to this company because I desire to provide the best service I can to my community. I intend to continue my work with Undergrads for a long time to come.In an effort to increase interaction with my community, in October of 2020 I joined my local volunteer fire department. Since then, I have served my community in this capacity with great pride and have found a passion of mine. After graduating from UNCC, I intend to pursue a career in Arson Investigation.
