About Callum Calder
Motivated Technician with a very practical approach to problems. I have a wide range of dynamic and versatile skills and experience suited to electrical and mechanical engineering problems and work well both alone and in a team, I prefer to take a pro-active approach by carrying out as much as I can independently so as to progress tasks quickly and efficiently. I am currently specialising as a C&I Technician for SSE Hydro full-time in Scotland whilst simultaneously studying towards a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics engineering. Educated up to a HNC in Engineering Systems, I have been in the Hydro business for over 9 years starting as an apprentice craftsperson with extensive maintenance and outage experience in mechanical and electrical plant and apparatus, I made the move into Control & Instrumentation as a technician in early 2019 and I'm now looking to specialise in this field, with aims to improve my expertise in highly technical fields of C&I such as plant commissioning, generator protection testing, generator AVR(Automatic Voltage Regulator) and synchroniser systems, Governor Systems, wide range of PLC systems and SCADA systems, Comms Mediums and general control system fault finding and a broad range of instrumentation monitoring and calibration.
