Varied national and international work including installations, service, maintenance, upgrades for machinery food factories, hospitals, laboratories and medical clients. This includes reading electrical drawings/schematics, fault finding, diagnostics, repair, mechanical installations not to mention working with motors, fans, impellers and ductwork.When I’m not visiting customers I attend the workshop in Hull to prepare and maintain machinery and equipment.

This involved undertaking my engineering officer of the watch cadetship (apprenticeship) at South Shields marine school through my training provider Clyde marine training. Alongside the technical information and qualification I received, I also gained valuable practice experience in the form of integrated engineering courses and an 8 month trip around the world on the OOCL Atlanta container ship.My duties onboard were to assist in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the ship's machinery and engineering systems, such as the main engine, the boiler, pumps, diesel generators, oil purifiers, air compressors and electrical systems. I learned how to monitor and troubleshoot mechanical issues under the supervision of senior engineering officers not to mention participating in watchkeeping duties, monitoring the performance of all machinery and systems, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.Additionally, I assisted with inspections, preventive maintenance, and overhauls of various machinery and systems including major plant equipment.

This involved overhauling and calibrating main engines & pumps of various capacities with technical precision and quality as per the work instructions, clients’ & yard’s requirements to deliver projects in a timely manner. Additionally it included repairing different mechanical items such as; Turbines, Engines, Compressors, Winches, Windlass and different valves in line with defined standard operating procedures. Furthermore including calibrating machinery parts using various types of precision calibration equipment and also with the ability to read and understand technical drawings.

I have had experience working in a varying apprenticeship at Pearson electrical Ltd in Hull which involved working with electric motors ranging from: pumps, blower motors, generators and other specialist jobs. This involved inspecting, testing, repairing and reassembling these motors.The other side of the apprenticeship involved mostly electrical work on various different systems on a multitude of ships in dry dock and different industrial machines onshore.
