Profile bio

About Cameron L.

My experience in FSAE taught me to love the sense of belonging and comradery that comes with the aggressive pursuit of outlandish goals. My time at SpaceX has reaffirmed this passion and gotten me hooked on the fast paced no problem is impossible/extreme ownership working environment.About Me:-In my free time I enjoy woodworking, metal fab and general house projects. As a result I have put together a fairly comprehensive shop over time (probably ~$15k total value). I even built my own rotary phase converter to generate 3-phase power for my table saw and hopefully a mill and lathe someday. Personal Portfolio: https://anarolindsey.wixsite.com/cameronlindsey-I grew up camping and love the outdoors. Likewise after years of helping my friends and brothers build their offroad rigs I finally got myself a 97 4runner this year. I’m definitely looking forward to the many adventures my wife, 2x dogs and I will have in it.-I love hanging out with friends and wrenching on cars. I’m not the guy who can tell you the horsepower and torque on every sports car but I’m always down to get covered in grease and help with whatever the project is today. -I’m the youngest of 8x kids and have 6x older brothers. It’s ok though the frequent beatings made me stronger.

Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Starship Components

Hawthorne, California, Us

-Responsible for starship valves and actuators

Mar 2022 - Mar 2024

Manufacturing Engineer Ii -Dragon Propulsion

Hawthorne, California, Us

-Owned insourcing of Draco Conical nozzle production. -I kept my composure despite intense/sustained schedule pressure (~3months of 70-80 hour weeks) by making a clear list of priorities and executing to it. -Balanced design and implementation of scrappy solutions to push pathfinder parts along while also developing and implementing long term solutions needed to reach stable production rate. -Personally responsible for saving 17wks on CRS-22 vehicle ship date. I accomplished this by doing anything and everything necessary to keep the parts going. Whether it was dispositioning issues, revising drawings, machining a new fixture, personally working or routing parts etc. etc. if it would get us closer to the finish line I got it done. -Took nozzles from initial dev builds to a stable production process which meets program takt rates. Since the initial flight set I have reduced build time from 80 days to 45 days and reduced average issue detail count/part from ~18 to 1-I saved 1200-1300 labor hours and 3x weeks on C206-2 schedule by designing, prototyping and implementing the Draco Pinball Shooter in 3x days to avoid significant negative work.-Challenge design requirements and implement changes (drawing/GD&T updates, new ATP limits/proceedures, etc.) to make them “less dumb”-Eliminate repeat issues and optimize build through process redesign, new or improved tooling, drawing updates, or by creating standard repair/acceptance criteria documentation.-Foster a close relationship between Draco ME and Production teams through hands-on support and flexibility to meet production needs.-Practice over communication to keep various stakeholders aligned despite rapidly changing production circumstances or evolving development test campaigns.-Owner of Draco Engine hardware production and test from the individual piece part level up through the engines and insulated thruster cluster assemblies.-Support day to day activities of the production floor with ~30 technicians.
