Front end gave experience in querying REST routes and handling them with Ajax or async JavaScript.Back end work was with Python and PostgreSQL. Back end Python involved writing and testing REST routes, or writing other non HTTP python services. Gained tons of experience writing SQL queries and stored procedures.Worked on writing my own or debugging other people's python scripts run from CLI. Usually these scripts were for collecting or moving data off Linux and Windows systems. Scripts were either invoked themselves or run from organization's API. So experience was gained using or building off existing code bases, most times developing code for new problems or challenges.Software developed required our team to deploy and manage it ourselves. This software’s deployment and maintenance required a mastery of system administration in Linux. This included writing Bash scripts, mounting file shares, systemd, Apache web servers, and managing database. Database administration work included standing up databases, managing replications, and handling our user's elastic resource usage.Team worked with utilized an Agile methodology for tasks, while tied with ever changing customer requirements resulted in handling a fast work environment while being able to shift from one task to another.

As a Residential Assistant was tasked with building community and monitoring a floor of a residential hall on the Boise State University campus.Balanced scheduling between working as an RA and attending university classes. Lived on and interacted with my residential floor, getting to know residents and being a source of information for them when they needed to be directed to certain resources on campus.Worked closely with other residential assistants, meeting weekly to discuss future plans that needed to be carried out.Resolved conflicts and problems that could appear in the residence halls. This included dealing with situations with residents and recording issues and logging reports in a timely manner.Was part of a committee that helped with showing incoming freshman the residence halls on campus.
