Worked as a consulting engineer on project based activities for a wide range of clients from small law offices to global organizations. Manage specialized client needs like Commvault, VMware, infrastructure networking, SAN Storage, blade chassis, security remediation, domain upgrades, cloud migrations, hosted Exchange and Office 365 deployments/migrations, Disaster Recovery Planning, Architecture, Building and Testing, Active Directory design and migrations.

• Architect, manage, maintain and troubleshoot the private cloud infrastructure for a $11 billion dollar market cap technology focused pharmaceutical company including storage (NetApp FAS, EMC Symmetrix VMAX, EMC XtremIO, NexSAN), compute (Cisco UCS Blades, Dell PowerEdge), networking (Cisco Nexus 5k/7k switches, Catalyst switches, ASA 5545x firewalls, 5508 WLAN controllers), new server builds (VM, rack mount and boot from SAN blades), Commvault backups (Windows, SQL, Oracle, Exchange, VMWare, NetApp, external laptops via proxy), VMWare (ESXi 5.0/5.1/5.5), Exchange 2010 cross-WAN DAG, Mimecast spam filtering and email archiving, Active Directory, Liebert HVAC and UPS systems• Designed, implemented and tested a full near-synchronous disaster recovery site. This included choosing the technologies needed to do SAN level replication, working with an external consulting firm to design the disaster recovery plan, purchasing and building the DR site, replicating data and fully testing all production business applications. Successfully completed first round testing of DR site.• Designed and implemented a full SAN migration from NetApp FAS 3140’s to two EMC VMAX 10k’s. Researched, designed and implemented a tier 1 high compute ESX cluster with an EMC XtremIO all SSD SAN back-end and UCS B200 M4 blades with 14 core Intel CPUs and 768GB of RAM per host• Manage vendor relations, projects and outsourced infrastructure monitoring; designed and implemented various new software systems for IT as well as other departments; designed and implemented an Exchange 2007 to 2010 migration with F5 front end load balancers; managed two separate company acquisitions and subsequent domain/email integration as well as conversion of remote sites

• Worked as a consulting engineer on project based work for a range of medium to enterprise size clients • Project examples: Designed, planned and implemented a domain migration from Server 2000 to Server 2008 R2 for a hospital system with 300+ servers; completed a variety of wireless site surveys as well as redesigned the wireless network for a large pharmaceutical company to provide wireless VoIP; Completed a number of switch refresh deployments for a variety of clients using standardized Cisco Catalyst equipment; Completed a Novell NDS/GroupWise migration to Windows AD/Exchange for a bank as well as a Novell NDS to Microsoft AD migration for an airport; completed a 2008 Hyper-V cluster upgrade to Server 2008 R2; Lead the successful remediation of a severe virus outbreak at an enterprise level client (40,000+ users)• Function as a tier 3 escalation point providing high level troubleshooting for Managed Services clients

• Managed and maintained local physical servers, virtual servers and APC Rack/Power Infrastructure; monitor LAN and WAN performance through SolarWinds; design, test and implement migration from Net Backup to Symantec Backup Exec for backing up local physical and virtual servers; maintain patching for servers, desktops and laptops through Shavlik NetChk• Provide helpdesk support for local users as well as maintain/troubleshoot remote VPN user accounts

• Managed over 100 customers remotely as well as on site with a wide range of configurations ranging from simple Windows SBS Servers to large Citrix Farms across dozens of sites• Designed, managed and maintained Windows Active Directory 2003/2008 infrastructures, Microsoft Exchange 2000/2003/2007 infrastructures and associated client software• Maintained backups on client servers with multiple software types through tape, disk, NAS, SAN and cloud services
