Worked on the Performance Engineering Development team where my main duties were to develop the company's performance infrastructure and develop and design the way to archive performance historical data.Selected Highlights:- Developed and designed the Counter Manager Clustered Archiver Parsing Library used to write, parse, and query the Clustered Archive files (historical performance data). Helped reduce the time it took to analyze and diagnose customer performance problems by over 50%- Collaborated with multiple teams across the world concurrently to make sure their use cases and requirements were understood and evaluated. Designed products around these customers’ needs- Designed the format of the new Clustered Archive files, including the XML header for metadata, indexing for quick access of data, and binary data samples for quick data retrieval. Over 80% faster to randomly access performance data than the old archive file format- Implemented user-space aggregation of all user-space performance data on the cluster to give customers a more high level view of the performance of the cluster, making it easier for them to know when there is a performance problem- Wrote and maintained Design and Functional Specs on the company Wiki for multiple projects that helped other developers understand much quicker how to use our productsPromotions:- Promoted from Member of the Technical Staff SW1 to Member of the Technical Staff SW2 in less than a year of working full time (06/2011)

Worked on the Performance Engineering Development team where my main duties were to design and develop a tool that allowed engineers to more easily define new performance statistical data to collectSelected Highlights:- Developed an Interface Definition Language (IDL) for the Counter Manager to streamline the way employees gather performance data by designing a Python-based program that automatically translated the XML definition files and generated new executable C code and online HTML web documentation, making the lives of future developers easier- Integrated automated scripts into the nightly build system to decrease development time for all employees- Learned three programming languages and two markup languages in 3 months in order to complete the project on time- Patent was submitted for summer project

Worked on the IMS Tools team where my main duties were to design and develop a new GUI interface tool used for system auditing, which would replace the the old command line interfaced system auditing tool.Selected Highlights:- Developed a front-end GUI that replaced the old non user-friendly command line interface that allowed employees and customers to more easily access and audit server data- Designed and created an Eclipse plug-in for the new interface to decrease development time of employees that need access to server data - Collaborated with a large design and development team that included many full-time employees across different funcitons
