As a Warriors Speak Communication Specialist and Spokesperson at Wounded Warrior Project, I use my professional speaking, writing, and media skills to raise awareness and advocacy for veterans who have been wounded or injured and their families and caregivers. For over seven years, I have shared my personal story of overcoming burnout and improving communication with diverse audiences, from conferences and corporate events to school assemblies and church groups. I also co-host a podcast called "This Caregiver Life" to explore the caregiver journey from all walks of life and provide resources and encouragement.My passion for this cause stems from my experience as my brother's primary caregiver, an Operation Iraqi Freedom III combat-wounded veteran, and an Elizabeth Dole Foundation Fellow Alum. As a subject matter expert on caregiving, communication, suicide awareness, and military and veteran families, I have contributed to multiple publications, received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, and joined prestigious organizations such as the Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Legion Auxiliary. I hold an Associate of Arts degree in Social Sciences from Indiana University and speak French fluently.
