Four Season Hotel Marine Works, Oman Omran Group planned a luxury development overlooking the sea of Oman. Part of this development is to upgrade the existing Marina Bander Al Rowdha.l was appointed as the Project Manager during the detailed design of the marine works where I managed the resources, schedule, and budget. During the schematic and detailed design stages, I was responsible for the analysis and design verification of the refurbished Launching/Refuelling quay wall, including the new Promenade marine wall extensions.

Marine and Topside Facilities for Jabal Dhana As part of an initiative to develop Abu Dhabi into a global maritime city, Abu Dhabi Ports (the Client) planned to undertake the development of several onshore and maritime facilities across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The Jabal Dhanna Marina and Ferry Terminal formed part of this initiative.I was responsible for the schematic design of the temporary Ro-Ro ramp to facilitate the operations during the construction stages. The Ro-Ro ramp consisted of a marine quay (concrete blocks) wall, which was analysed, and the design verification was done using advanced engineering software to optimize the design.

Marsa Al Arab Beach Development Dubail was assigned to the Marsa Al Arab beach development project located in Dubai. ASGC (Client) appointed Ayesa for as the construction supervision consultant for the marine works scope of the project. As such, I was responsible for the following to name a few:• shoring walls (i.e. Diaphragm walls and L-shape concrete crown walls) construction supervision and all document/drawings/material submittal reviews.• Review and monitor contractor’s work progress.• Interface with client and sub-contractor on construction issues

I was assigned to the Natural History Museum project located in the Cultural District Abu Dhabi. As part of the PMC, I was responsible for all marine works site deliverable reviews. In addition to this, is the supervision related to construction of all the marine work structures. To name a few as follows:- Dredging works - Marine pile installation and testing- New quay wall stonebed foundation construction incl, anti-scour rock- New quay wall block construction and installation - Pile on concrete deck structure (precast pile caps, beams and slab with in-situ topping)

Dubai DB 17 Outfall Pipeline Dubail was assigned to the Dubai DB 17 Outfall pipeline located at the Dubai Offshore Sailing Club (DOSC) in Dubai. Dubai Municipality commissioned Dubai Shipbuilding & Engineering (DSBE) to construct the proposed outfall through a Design and Build (D&B) contract. DSBE subsequently appointed Ayesa to complete the detailed design and construction supervision.l was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the HDPE pipeline construction supervision (S-lay float and sink). In addition, I liaised directly with the Coastal Environment Section (CES) of Dubai Municipality to ensure DSBE is fully compliant with the No Objection Certificate (NOC) conditions. This included the submission of the monthly reports to CES.

Served as a technical lead/senior engineer for the project/tender to ensure that engineering process and related deliverables are developed for the project in accordance with company requirements. The aim was to deliver safe, on time, on cost, and a quality project. Notable involvement in the following projects and tenders: Layyah Combined Cycle Power Plant extension project. 2019 - 2021The scope cover Intake and Outfall Works consisting of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Testing including all marine, civil, pipeline and structural works. My first child was born, I decided to take a break to be a full time dad to assist my wife in raising our child. This was the most memorable and exciting phase of my life. At the same time I stayed current on industry trends and learning to remain fully prepared for the next new challenge.

I was assigned to the design team of the new PT Asahimas Chemical power plant project in Cilegon on Java Indonesia. Penta Ocean was responsible for the detailed design and construction of an offshore jetty, seawater intake and pump station. The design was outsourced to a sub consultant in Singapore. My duties were as follows:• reviewed the intake head structure, offshore GRP seawater intake pipeline and pump station design.• liaised with site on design issues and coordinate with design sub consultants.• managed the design deliverables and issuance thereof to site.

During this period I formed part of the engineering team supporting the Saldanha Liquefied Petroluem Gas (LPG) project. I was tasked with the following temporary works design items:• performed overburden calculations to assess 4m of fill incl. various construction plant impact due to vertical stress on top of an existing Strategic Fuel Fund (SFF) pipeline (1.5m below ground level) • conduct a design verification on existing SFF pipeline.• designed lifting hooks for 22ton concrete blocks, including rigging for the onshore handling and offshore installation thereof.

I was seconded to Penta-Ocean Construction Co. by Clough Murray & Roberts Marine. I formed part of the engineering team of Penta-Ocean/Koon Joint Venture (Main Design & Build Contractor), who have been awarded the land preparation works for Singapore Changi Airport Development by The Ministry of Transport. The contract value was approximately S$1,108 million and scheduled for completion by 2020. The project was for 600 ~ 700 hectares of land preparation work for the future expansion of the Airport and extension of existing Runway 3 which will be constructed on 1,080 hectares of reclaimed site. I was responsible for the following:• reviewed designs and drawings from local engineering consultants and subcontractors;• assisted in the design and development schemes of the new Changi bridge; • developed temporary works design concepts to support existing structures;• managed and controlled the civil work design approvals for various authority submissions by engineering consultants.The above responsibilities relate to various areas listed as follows:• Ground Improvement• Airside Services Diversion• Changi Coast Road Diversion• Diversion of Existing Services

During this period I was part of the project team to ensure successful execution of the project. I assisted both the site based Project Manager and the head office based Project Engineer by fulfilling the roles and responsibilities as follows:• co-ordinated the design approval submissions by the local 3rd party engineer to local authorities• coordinated with test laboratories with regards to soil sampling tests, material testing, methods and frequencies• assisted and guided site engineers in developing construction method statements and site works procedures synchronized with the design constraints for the different work areas.• managed the implementation and processed results for deep excavation structural monitoring i.e displacements using inclinometer readings from diaphragm and cofferdam wall, strut forces using vibration wire strain gauges.• was actively involved during quality control inspections to offsite structural steel fabrication, i.e gantry girders and built up columns for 50 ton gantry structure and lifting frame for lifting 450ton heavy precast culvert• developed heavy lift plan for lifting the 450 ton precast culverts.• developed procedure for the lifting frame load test of 450 ton heavy precast culvert to DNV standard.• conducted Safe Practice Observation (SPO’s) on site and communicate/create an awareness of “working safe” amongst the project team.

During this period, I was a part time B-Tech student completing my final year dissertation. I got elementary concrete/steel structural analysis and design exposure during my time in the design office. Preparation of structural layouts and rebar detailing formed part of my daily duties. I was assigned to two projects during this period which are as follows:• The Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) Spearhead Building, which was a new office tower and an extension of the existing CTICC exhibition hall.• The refurbishment of the existing retail and mall areas of The Link building, to the standards of the adjacent Cavendish Square shopping mall, named Cavendish Connect.

I commenced employment with Murray & Roberts Construction as a Junior Site Engineer and was assigned to the construction team responsible for converting an 18 story building (63 years old at the time) named Mutual Heights into a loft apartment complex of 178units, with shopping outlets and restaurants in Darling Street, Cape Town South Africa. My roles and responsibilities were as follows:• Set out of works and carried out surveys from engineer’s drawings.• Calculating concrete quantities and placing concrete orders for concrete elements to be cast.• Place reinforcement orders.• Conduct reinforcement inspections as per engineer’s drawings.• Quality control and supervision of works between different building trades.
