The Meat & 3 Printing Company is a small business I started back in 2012, originally as a brand and facilitation for my own personal artwork. Over the years, it grew into a small batch show poster operation, producing runs of 50-150 hand-carved woodcut letterpress posters for mostly Americana musicians. In 2017, I began to have problems with my wrist from the excessive woodcarving, so I switched to screen printing. Now, I still make show posters and other art prints in our shop, located in South Salt Lake.

At the Mandate Press, it was my job to review any print jobs we had come through the door, schedule our jobs out, coordinate with any of our local vendors (paper, foil stamping, offset), and make sure that the jobs were on track to be completed by their deadlines. I was also responsible for printing the jobs, with another pressman, and packing and shipping them to our clients.

During my five years at Hatch, I spent time designing posters for a wide range of clients from St. Jude's Children Hospital to Bob Dylan, ZZ Top to the Woody Guthrie Center and everything in between. During the final two years, it became my job to train our interns. We hosted five groups of four interns at a time over the course of a year, from all over the world. It was a great way to learn how to coexist with other personality types and a great experience in realizing how much there is to learn from people who are different from me.
