About Carlo Jiménez
Whether as a 3rd-grade soccer star, a broadcaster, or a member of the women’s basketball team as a practice player, Carlo Jiménez enjoys working with others to produce high-quality outcomes. As a broadcaster, Carlo invites the challenge of learning new sports and adapting to different roles and places — while always striving to be the best team player. Carlo was raised in the Bay Area, where his love of sports blossomed as he cheered for local teams. He traded the NorCal fog for the SoCal sun, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a degree in Journalism. While at USC, Carlo gained the trust of one of the premiere college athletic programs in the nation. As a Junior, Carlo became the voice of USC Women’s Basketball and USC Baseball. In addition, he earned the role of sports director of the student radio station. As a team leader, he grew the station, broadening consistent coverage across baseball, basketball, and football while mentoring other students. Beyond play-by-play, Carlo anchored for multiple television news and sports talk shows on campus, learning to find stories and relay them to viewers in a limited time. Outside of school, he curated an audience of more than 55,000 followers on a broadcasting-specific TikTok account (@carlothebroadcaster). In his senior year, Carlo won the college’s sports media Heisman—he was recognized with the Jim Nantz Award, which is given to the most outstanding collegiate sportscaster in the United States.Born into a family of professors, Carlo’s goal during every broadcast is to teach the audience something by sharing his passion for sports. He hopes his viewers and listeners are able to take a breath from their everyday lives through the stories of sports. When he is not preparing, watching, or being involved in broadcasts, Carlo enjoys hiking through National Parks, weightlifting, and going to museums.
