Started at Chemtech when heavy investments on presalt projects begun. I was project leader at “special projects” department.Over three years, coordinated oil & gas offshore and refining projects.Examples of major achievements include leadership and coordination of conceptual design and CAPEX & OPEX evaluation of an offshore gas processing platform and condensate; design and economic evaluation for development of a thermoelectric power plant cycle closure, operational risk studies for offshore units, basic design and analysis of construction costs for offshore units (P58, P62, MOP).

Just before the super cycle of oil, GE restructured its operation moving all design and manufacturing of hydropower generation equipment to Brazil, the most promising market at that time.I led computer analysis of the hydrodynamic and vibration behavior of large hydraulic turbines, with relevant participation in the construction of a new hydraulic laboratory infrastructure in Brazil. The technology was transferred to Brazil after one year at GE Hydro Technology Centre in Montreal (Canada).In 2008 GE Hydro was acquired by an Austrian Industrial conglomerate: Andritz.

Previously to the presalt discovery Petrobras had a plan to become a completely integrated energy company, from well to the wire, and serve as an energy politics tool for the government.There I worked as an equipment engineer on the Gas and Energy DivisionI was responsible for the planning of maintenance and optimization of thermal power plants acquired by Petrobras since the Brazil´s Thermoelectric priority plan.My main responsibility was the identification and coordination of projects to increase the efficiency and reduce the down time of the power plant fleet.Among the projects that I participated (or coordinated) are included fuel conversions (conversion of aero-derivative turbines for ethanol and LPG), conversion to dual fuel of the Termoceará plant, feasibility study for the installation of a maintenance shop for gas turbines and some projects to increase the efficiency of the combined heat and power operation together with Petrobras refineries (Termobahia, Fafen Energy, between others).

Just after the period of power rationing in Brazil, when price of electricity skyrocketed, Shell implemented a pilot project in Brazil of an ESCO (Energy Service Company), to get energy savings in large customers implementing energy efficiency projects.Within this pioneering team, I performed energy audits at customer facilities, evaluation of the potential for optimization of energy systems (steam generation, optimization, and electricity cogeneration systems), thermodynamic modeling of processes, and design strategies to reduce fuel expenditures.

During the beginning of Brazil's Thermoelectric priority plan (PPT), I was hired to join the first group of field engineers who would work in the construction and subsequent maintenance of thermal power plantsAfter a period of "on the job" training in the USA (Schenectady, NY), I worked in steam turbine maintenance and modernization projects across Latin America (Braskem, UTE Fernando Gasparian, Nueva Renca, between others).

Started at contract administration area and after a year I was hired in charge of monitoring the fabrication shop and field services for heavy equipment overhauls.
