My portfolio of work includes evaluation of programs designed to improve and innovate in the clinical safety net and coalition-led community health improvement efforts. www.cche.orgKey projects:- ALL HEART, PHASE, and Transforming Cardiovascular Care in our Communities (funded by Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit programs of Northern and Southern California): These are safety net interventions in California to reduce risks associated with cardiovascular disease, which include a depression screening and behavioral health integration component.- Accountable Communities of Health (funded by the WA Health Care Authority): The ACHs are coalitions of multi-sector stakeholders working together to improve health in their region. - Clinic Capacity Building Program (funded by the Sierra Health Foundation): The program’s goal was to strengthen administrative and operational capacity to improve care quality and financial stability of safety net clinics.Technical skills:- Data collection and analysis of primary qualitative and primary & secondary quantitative data; creation of data management systems; statistical analysis; synthesis across data sources to ensure validity.- Data visualization and creative reporting to better convey information and provide feedback in a more actionable way.- Writing reports, blog posts, publications, and presentations.- Project management, including work planning and client communications.

--Prepared and analyzed large datasets at the national level to produce a time series of mortality estimates for almost 200 countries from 1950 to 2013, which are distributed via academic papers and conferences to country-specific experts and global health program donors--Synthesized mortality results for publications in peer-reviewed journals and online visualizations geared towards policy makers, public health professionals, and other researchers--Drove the creation of a system that manages all available mortality sources to track usefulness and analysis status of each source--Collaborated with other internal teams to produce policy reports such as The Global Burden of Disease: Generating Evidence, Guiding Policy

--Managed verification of collected data to ensure quality of the data collection in a study investigating the success of facilities to keep their HIV-positive patients’ viral load suppressed--Acted as a liaison between the Ugandan and Seattle-based teams to facilitate execution of study protocol, management of supplies, and discussions to clarify issues that arose

Assisted freshmen with adjusting to life at college, enforced University regulations, advised residents about relevant resources and challenges they were presented with, and planned events and study breaks for residents

--Conducted systematic reviews to serve as background for a study about the impact on maternal and child mortality of race and nativity status (where one was born)--Entered and verified quality of data entry for an academic paper on validation of reported age using records from the 1910, 1920, and 1930 Censuses

--Supported principal investigator by analyzing data on colorectal cancer screening rates in rural Iowa --Performed and provided background research on established racial and income disparities in health behaviors to contribute to an academic paper

--Increased efficiency of data entry by developing a system to better handle incoming informed consent forms and survey responses--Entered and verified data on the healthcare-seeking behavior of patients with diabetes
