I am an intern at EPA Region 7's Laboratory Science and Technology Center where I am working primarily in their labs and participating in few field service activities. I am excited to work with my fellow colleagues and see what new experiences I will gain from this opportunity.

I participated in a research experience for undergraduates (REU), which was sponsored by NSF and Miami University. There I joined the Ferguson lab in the microbiology division and helped with Dr. Ferguson and his graduate students' research on quaternary amines (QAs) and their rare usage in methanogenic metabolism. I also observed how foods containing choline and other QAs can contribute towards various cardiovascular diseases. My summer at Miami University helped me gain research experience, lab experience and to determine which direction I want to steer my career towards.
