I have transitioned to a half time employee in placement and outreach, I am looking for employers in Michigan who would like to partner with us to provide trained, at-risk youth with living wage employment and career opportunities. The new Director of the program is Jeff Connell and he is doing a wonderful job with both Youth Challenge and Job Challenge. Mr. Robert Vaught is the Job Challenge site director. The Michigan Job Challenge Program is a new grant funded program from the US Department of Labor. The program is designed for Michigan Youth Challenge Academy graduates to transition them into the world of work and provide all career and job services including placemnt in a living wage job. It begins with a 5 month residency phase where cadets earn college credits, explore careers, enjoy hands-on vocational training, and learn job seeking and keeping skills. The first class will begin on January 4th, 2016. This is a pilot program lasting three years. The MYCA graduates are at risk 16-18 year olds trying to turn their lives around and be productive citizens. I'm very excited to develop and implement this program.

Coordinated multiple CTE Programs state wide including Health Science, Law and Public Safety, Education and Child Care, Cosmetology, JROTC, Entrepreneurship. Lead for state wide articulation agreements, worked with teacher Certification, TRAC lead for curricular areas, Budget, Grant team, National Career Cluster Initiatives including Education and Training Cluster Lead.

Worked with Health Science Educators in Michigan in all aspects of CTE Education. Coordinator of the Career and Technical Student Organizations at the state level. Facilitated the development of curriculum in all health science secondary programs. Produced crosswalks to academic integration. Met with Business and Industry leaders in Michigan to aid in directing educators, multiple public presentations to multiple audiences, travel to all Michigan Schools to monitor programs.
