I was incredibly proud of what we achieved with The Design Festival, The Foundation and The Academy. We hoped it would be a legacy and it is great to see a young, dynamic team taking it forward and The Academy still benefiting young students from a host of Gloucestershire schools, exploring creativity.When we began, our goal was to put Gloucestershire on the map from a creative perspective, a task given to us by SWDF. Creating a Design Festival, in a town of Festivals, was the only answer! We wanted it to be more than a Festival so the Trust and Academy was created which gave us a greater purpose. The first year saw 4,500 tickets sold to a 3 day festival, some amazing businesses getting involved to support and sponsor us, a packed exciting programme, some brilliant international speakers across a wide range of design disciplines and a full venue at nearly every event!

I can back from London and joined my brother in the family business. Created just after the war, when chicken were a luxury, my Dad used to drove a van across the Cotswolds to pick up chickens from the farmers! A long way from the thriving multi million pound business which then went on to be sold.My role was to look strategically at the business, help build the brands, create new product ideas and look after all retail and branded business. It was great to be part of the business and work with many people, from all divisions, who had supported the company for many, many years!

I wanted less international travel, an agency that was known for their exceptional creativity and with a broader focus than FMCG.
