Lead Business Intelligence (Bi) Developer
Current
Senior Business Intelligence (Bi) Developer
As a Senior BI Developer, I am a leader and proponent for all business intelligence aspects of the projects I support. I build, update, and manage an array of Tableau dashboards - ensuring a high quality result and experience for users while maintaining best practices. I provide report demonstrations, training, and support to customers to guarantee report functionality is understood and all requirements are fully met. In addition to Tableau, I work heavily in SQL and have accumulated over 5 years of professional experience in the language. I have hands on experience working within ETL processes using tools such as SSIS and Microsoft SQL Server. I strive to continue learning within the field of business intelligence/data analytics and work to remain up-to-date as new developments occur. Along with my development related responsibilities, I assist with project organizational efforts and create/maintain documentation within my areas of expertise.
Business Intelligence (Bi) Developer
I work primarily as a Tableau developer to build and update dashboards, both new and existing. I collaborate with project teams and customers to make sure that all data questions and analytic needs are met. I provide guidance and support as it pertains to report structure and composition while making sure reporting best practices are followed. Along with my dashboard development work, I assist with the update and development of SQL code within Microsoft SQL Server and have also helped in the migration of code between coding languages/platforms. I have growing knowledge in the ETL process including work with existing SSIS packages. I also aid in project organizational and documentation efforts.
Data Analyst I
I worked from January 2019 until August of 2020 as a Clinical Data Analyst I for MUSC in the Analytics & Reporting Department leading and assisting on data extraction and visualization projects that primarily used Microsoft SQL Server/SQL and Tableau. The results of the projects I worked on help MUSC care team members explore insights into hospital/patient care and management as well as provide certifications and tools from external organizations.
Co-Author Of Mob-R Application
I have had the wonderful opportunity to pair with Dr. Dan McGlinn, one of my professors at the College of Charleston, to create a graphical user interface for the R package mob-r (Measurements of Biodiversity in R) using the R shiny framework. All code for this project can be found on GitHub under the title mobr_app. This began as a project for a Quantitative Methods class during the Spring of 2018.
Test Developer For The Mob-R Package
Continuing my work with Dr. Dan McGlinn and the mob-r team, I helped to develop a testing suite in R for various mob-r functions that are altered and/ or optimized at a greater frequency.
Data Science Capstone
This project completed my Capstone requirement during my last semester at the College of Charleston. A team of 2 fellow students and I worked with KopisUSA & Vigilix, and were provided a large system alert database used to predict if a store qualified as a high alert store, as well as, quantify the probability for a repeat alert for a given time interval.
Undergraduate Researcher
Over the course of 10 weeks, I performed a complementary data analysis of proteomic and phosphoproteomic data from ovarian cancer patients for drug target identification in R using K-means clustering and Benjamini-Hochberg multiple test correction on calculated p-values. I also worked with a doctor at MUSC to initialize a breast cancer cell lines database in a Google Cloud Platform instance using MySQL and Cloud SQL.
