As principal of Tring Consulting I provide consulting services to financial institutions, service providers and other industry participants on the topic of payments.I have spent over 10 years in the payments industry, focusing mainly on cards, fraud and security. This follows a significant career providing consulting services on information security.I have a strong background in industry initiatives - bringing representatives from a number of banks and other financial institutions, merchants and service providers to work together to tackle key aspects of payments fraud.I am able to focus on both the big picture and, where necessary, on the details.In addition, and as a bit of an aside, I am exploring the massive changes to society that are likely to occur as technology takes more and more of our jobs. Current predictions suggest about 40% of current jobs in Australia are likely to disappear within about 15 years, while expectations that they will simply be replaced by different jobs seem rather optimistic (and a tad lazy). How will we cope as a society with massive levels of unemployment? Is it time to seriously consider a universal basic income?
