I love to think about the career journey I'be been on. I started as a Quality Control Chemist straight from school, analylsing paracetamol tablets and studying day release.Then selling chemicals caught my eye, I started selling chemicals to the cosmetics industry moving companies a few times and moving into a marketing role with Uniqema.I started thinking about the third sector after moving back to the North East in 2001, I became a trustee for Mind and then trained as a volunteer relationship counsellor with Relate.Redundancy followed and I took the opportunity to study full time for a Masters degree in Marketing which I really enjoyed. When I left there I joined Relate as an office manager and within a few months found myself doing maternity cover for the CEO. Despite being the most stressful thing I'd done until that time, I loved it and discovered an ambition I didn't know I had.Moves to other third sector organisations followed where I used my analytical mind to stabilise and grow the organisations. I volunteered as a business growth mentor with the Help to Grow Scheme and the Cranfield trust who work with charities.I've just completed my level 5 Certificate in Effective Coaching and Mentoring and and looking to work with organisations who would like a mentor to help them grow.I love what I do!
