Ms. Merek is responsible for security architecture, identity and access management architecture, and enterprise infrastructure across numerous programs and organizations within the Federal Government. As a consultant to the Office of the Chief Information Officers, she provides decision-makers with the critical information needed to plan, execute, and operate a successful IT portfolio. In this capacity, she has led disaster recovery planning for enterprise data centers, developed a next-generation security architecture, and an identity management architecture and leading complex transformation and optimization programs. Ms. Merek has worked with senior officials to craft an agency-appropriate implementation of HSPD-12, developed facility plans for the headquarters credentialing center, and designed and implemented the data model used for credentialing of more than 150,000 employees and contractors. She has represented her clients on the Federal CIO's Identity, Credentialing and Access Management Subcommitee and working groups and Information Security and Identity Management Committee.

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICEAs Program Manager for the Enterprise Technology Enterprise Infrastructure and Security program, Ms. Merek provided strategic consulting to the DOJ CIO and senior DOJ managers for IT security, public key infrastructure, enterprise infrastructure technology architecture, and telecommunications. Ms. Merek directed development of technical, policy, and process frameworks for a Department-wide PKI and established a program Management Office to select product/ service vendors and deploy the PKI. Ms. Merek acted as the DOJ Policy Authority official in the DOJ Enterprise Certificate Authority key generation ceremony to instantiate the root and the Classified Certificate Authority owned and operated by the FBI. Ms. Merek also led project management for developing the new DOJ unified network telecommunications architecture and planning the procurement data communications services to provide secure WAN connectivity to all DOJ components.DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURYAt the Internal Revenue Service, Ms. Merek was the HPTi Program Manager for the Tier 2 Consolidation Program, which standardized and consolidated more than 200 client and desktop-based applications into five approved Data Centers.

Ms. Merek was PMO Lead for a $172M ERP implementation deployed to 175 properties for Marriott International, Inc. She was responsible for all cross-project coordination, scheduling, quality assurance, and business case management. Ms. Merek was also the Project Leader for a $3.5M property-based Credit Authorization, Settlement, and Imaging solution. She led a 50-person team deploying the system to 150 properties processing $4.2 billion credit card transactions annually.

Ms. Merek was the Testing Lead for CapitalOne’s eWorks Real-Time Account Number program. She provided architectural foundation for dynamic personalized targeted solicitation offerings via the new Internet marketing channel, which required special focus on business, technical, security, and regulatory requirements for credit products offered through the Internet. Ms. Merek also led CapitalOne’s strategic enterprise-wide eCommerce infrastructure upgrade program to provide a secure, extensible, scalable infrastructure for 600 Web pages.
