Performed nonsurgical periodontal therapy (NSPT)/Scaling and Root Planing (SRP) in conjunction with Laser Assisted Periodontal Therapy (LAPT), prophylaxis therapy, and periodontal maintenance procedures utilizing Laser Bacterial Reduction (LBR). Working with and classifying patients ranging in stages I – IV of AAP guidelines of periodontal disease involvement, reviewing medical history and treating patients with advanced medical conditions, patient education, oral hygiene instruction, administration of local anesthesia, administration of nitrous oxide (N2O), and Dental Anxiety management skills/coping mechanisms. Application of dental sealants, placement and adjustment of dental restorations, and application of fluoride varnish. Taking intraoral radiographs and extraoral images. Obtaining 15 Continuing Education Courses yearly. Attending ADHA Conferences (Dental Hygiene Symposium and PNDC). Software System experience with Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, TigerView, and NameGrabber.

Organizing events for my class including fundraisers, end-of-quarter celebrations, and birthdays. Assisted with procedures ranging from dental restorations to root canal treatments (RCT). Administration of topical anesthetic gel, placement, and removal of rubber dams and matrix bands, sterilization technician, ordering dental instruments and materials. Assisting the Dental Hygienist with prophylaxis cleanings, radiographs (full mouth x-rays, bitewings, anterior periapical), creating treatment plans with the DDS, assisting with perio charting, regular check-ups, charting, and application of topical fluoride varnish.

Prophylaxis cleanings on children ranging in age from a couple of months old to 18 years old, discussing and educating parents about effective ways to keep deciduous teeth clean and healthy. Radiographs (bitewings, periapical/ occlusal, panoramic). Assisting with treatment such as silver diamine fluoride (SDF), fillings on deciduous and permanent teeth, pulpotomy (root canal treatment on deciduous teeth), application of sealants and fluoride varnish treatments, crown placement, extractions of deciduous and permanent teeth, sterilization technician, reviewing treatment plans in depth with parents and knowing how to explain various procedures in simpler terms to children.
