I work with a small IT team that processes electronic surplus for the UW by either recycling it or redistributing it to other UW departments and the public. Surplus that is sent to UW SWAP is evaluated to be either recycled or resold. Once it has been determined for resale it is tested and any sensitive data is erased with a Department of Defense standard. UW SWAP is the last line of data sanitation for the University.Built a Linux based imaging network that streamlined the way the department refurbished computers and servers. Updated policies and procedures to better protect the department.
