Habitat for Humanity of East Jefferson County builds and repairs homes for people in need of safe, decent shelter. In this position, I had the opportunity to build relationships with donors and volunteers, leverage and raise funds, and market and advertise the organization and the Habitat Stores.I ensured the wellbeing of the organization financially and relationally by directing the strategic communications, fundraising, marketing, advertising, public relations, and event planning. By supervising the Volunteer & Office Coordinator, I was also responsible for overseeing the recruitment, engagement, and cultivation of more than 400 volunteers.In development, I engaged donors in meaningful, thoughtful, and values-driven philanthropy. My responsibilities included major donor cultivation and relationship building, grant writing and tracking, direct mail and email appeals, capital campaign strategy and execution, legacy giving, and thanking donors meaningfully.

Seattle University's Center for Strategic Communications was awarded a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to spotlight the prevalence and impact of family homelessness in Washington State. I interviewed homeless families, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations as a Research Assistant to former Seattle Post-Intelligencer Reporter Carol Smith.

Managed and tracked Holocaust teaching materials statewide, reviewed and edited Holocaust curriculum, and created marketing materials so children can understand the lasting effects of genocide in the modern world.
