Leading the development of a coherent and consistent Acas digital presence; setting and overseeing the standards for all Acas digital services; and providing expert support to colleagues across the organisation. Responsible for the development of Acas digital roadmap, ensuring our citizen facing services meet Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.Advocating for the strategic digital transformation of Acas services, using agile methodology, and building capability at all levels.

Leading a team of 13, responsible for all Acas external and internal communications activity. Advise CEO and senior team on strategic communications development including digital strategy. Ensure delivery of consistently high quality communications activity across all channels, including @acasorguk, acas.org.uk, strategic stakeholder engagement, PR and media handling and digital marketing. Introduced social media and digital marketing channels to Acas and oversaw development of Acas mobile website. Currently leading on agile website development project. Internal communications service rated “an exemplar” by Cabinet Office. Award winning Annual report 2015.

Responsible for leadership and engagement communications across Home Office HQ, UK Border Agency and UK Identity and Passport Service, including strategic approach and overseeing delivery. Advised Director General for Strategy and Reform on communication of ministerial and board priorities. Managed team of four. Delivered programme of leadership events for G7s which achieved 80% satisfaction rating. Advised Group HR Director and his senior management team on effective communication of HR services and policies to the rest of the Department (75k staff). Included creating pan-HR communications strategy, forward planning tools, campaign strategies and managing the delivery of all communications products. Increased satisfaction with HR communications from 46% to 62% during period of extremely low people survey ratings at Home Office.

Led on design and content of GCN Live programme of training and development events for communications professionals across Government. Supported delivery of centrally driven standard skills and competencies for communicators across government. Chaired recruitment and promotion assessment centres for press, marketing, digital and internal communications posts, took the lead on developing internal communicators’ cross government network.

Responsible for all external and internal communications including regional advertising campaigns, publications, media relations and e-comms. Developed early mapping functionality with Ordnance Survey and University of London Computer Centre to allow online consultation on LGCE website. Converted consultation publication to e-publishing, increasing local participation and reducing printing schedules by 40% and overall costs by 25%.

Advised Chief Executive on media handling and managed press enquiries. Managed OfTEL website and introduced electronic publishing programme.
