As an ADHD life coach and consultant in the Chicago area, I also work worldwide, serving adult clients with ADHD, and consulting with parents and schools on ADHD. My ADHD coaching experience has included coaching adults with new ADHD diagnoses; RSD; Autism; Gifted Creatives/Twice Exceptionals; Highly Sensitive Persons; those who identify as LGBTQIA. I find that I mostly coach those who identify as women, and most of my clients are newly diagnosed.A former special education teacher, I also have worked with gifted and talented students, and those with chronic and painful medical conditions.My passion for becoming an ADHD coach stems from my own two children's, and then my own, diagnoses. Upon our being diagnosed, our family soon discovered that there didn't seem to be a lot of qualified ADHD coaches, which is what led me to go back to school to become one. People with ADHD struggle with many aspects of life. Executive skills are usually considerably impaired, and so executive functions such as planning and prioritization, organization, task initiation, getting places on time, meeting deadlines, etc., are a huge challenge. And the more complicated life becomes -- high school, college, becoming employed, getting married, having children -- the more difficult and insurmountable it can feel. I bring patience and creativity to the coaching process, and through my coaching, clients begin to understand themselves and their ADHD brains better. They begin to learn what makes them tick, and what doesn't.
