Worked in a team environment with internal audit director and senior auditor to assist in a variety of assurance engagements in the governmental industry. Also, served on the ethical culture committee to ensure the success of the University System of Georgia’s International Fraud Awareness Week by planning and organizing faculty/student events.

Served as the Student Ambassador/Liaison between Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) Talent Development and Campus Relations program and Savannah State University; responsible for developing and executing campus marketing activities to ensure an increasing pool of qualified applicants for TMCF programs, student interview preparedness, increase program awareness, and monthly reporting to document progress. During my tenure, the campus scorecard (which consists of a standard metric that relate to student quality and program application growth) grew from showing either negative application growth or student performance rating under or equal to 50% to showing positive application growth and student performance rating above 50% in just one semester. Through different innovative methods, the numbers significantly showed improvement and I was recognized for the accomplishment.

Participated in a 10 week internship with the FDIC that provided an opportunity for hands-on experience evaluating bank operations, business planning,and consumer protection practices. Worked in a team environment with experienced examiners to assist in a variety of audits of intermediate and large financial institutions. The internship allowed me to exercise strong analytical and quantitative skills, knowledge of the basic principles of accounting and finance learned in the classroom; the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with team members and bank personnel, and the ability to work both independently and in teams in different areas of an examination. Extensive travel was required as bank examinations were conducted on-site at banks.
