I am creating a safety equipment simulation environment in LS-Dyna under Professor Kenji Shimada. The project is funded by MSA The Safety Company, a locally owned business, to determine the effects of safety harnesses on the human body. The results of this work may influence the industry safety standards.

I work directly with the professor to administrate and support the course Molecular Simulation of Materials. As the only course assistant, I hold weekly office hours for 35 students and answer questions during in-class programming labs.

Peoria, Illinois Area

I contributed to my team through creating multiple structural analyses and user guides while learning the tools on the job. By the end of the summer I had completed 5 major projects including an independent analysis for internal customers within the single week deadline. I learned how to use several programs and gave a few training seminars to the rest of my team about them. I also published an internal user guide document that will be used by everyone within the company that will interface with that specific program.

Greater Pittsburgh Area

I supported the course Numerical Methods (24-311), a junior level course for Mechanical Engineers meant to teach students about the various computational tools used to solve complex equations. I tested homework and exams and led office hours where students came in to ask questions about the concepts and homework.

I created a community among 45 residents through activities that promote wellness and good decision making while continuing my studies. I worked with 9 other members of my staff to improve the residential experience at Carnegie Mellon University. One program I initiated was a large dinner with students and faculty for the larger housing community I was a part of. 10+ Faculty and 20+ students enjoyed the experience.

I worked with 41 other counselors to organize activities for 580+ students was directly responsible for 27 students' lives outside of the classroom.

I assisted the engineers by reorganizing the archive of code books and past projects, checking over drawings for discrepancies, visiting job sites, and compiling a list of customers in Microsoft Excel.
