She has collaborated with numerous organizations and coalitions to produce campaigns and advocacy strategies for policy change.Cecilia has also worked extensively with traditional and online journalists to help foster a better collective understanding of scientific data and the impacts of research and government policies on health. She was executive editor of several global health news services and has used online tools as well as traditional print media to disseminate information while working at Bread for the World Institute, CEDPA, Communications Consortium Media Center (CCMC), Faiths for Safe Water, Faith for International Assistance, GlobalGiving, International Center for the Study of Violent Extremism, Our Voices Together, the Panos Institute, and WASH Advocates.Within the U.S. government sector, Cecilia has provided information management and strategic communications solutions to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). She has worked across the aisle to plan and convene several events involving key decision makers, resulting in significant U.S. policy changes.Cecilia has also designed several print publications and scientific posters for hard copy and electronic distribution. She received a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Virginia Tech.
