Leading Analytical Validation: I executed a significant endeavor of completing an Analytical Validation study in a clinical lab, overseeing lab activities, organization, coordination, and troubleshooting. Working with a staff scientist and a team of two lab technicians, we successfully completed the validation study while handling over 2,400 unique samples. As a user expert of Clarity LIMS, I trained the team on it's capabilities to track sample workflow processing, lot number record keeping, and NGS Library Preparation. Leading Cell Purity Validation: Currently, I'm leading the effort on a Cell Purity Validation study. This involves developing assays, writing SOPs, training lab technicians, coordinating sample allocation, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting. It's uniquely challenging as I'm the sole on-site expert in for the Attune-Nxt instrument with which I was completely self taught on. Effective Communication and Collaboration: Communication among team members and departments was vital to ensure alignment. Regular updates on project progress, milestones, and challenges were shared with stakeholders to maintain transparency.Problem Solving and Decision-Making: Proactively addressing challenges during validations required making data-driven decisions to ensure success. Implementing solutions to mitigate risks was a key aspect of my role. Solved technical issues on LHI's and other machines in real time to ensure the integrity of the study samples. Team Leadership: Providing guidance and mentorship to lab technicians, I aimed to foster a productive team environment. Effective delegation of tasks was crucial in achieving our project goals.

Confirmed genome mutation via CRISPR engineering in mice sent for cryo. Regularly extracted DNA from mouse toes using Qiagen protocols and Sequel Prep. Different CRISPR mutations require different genotyping assays to confirm changes of which included PCR, Taqman, Gel Electrophoresis, and Sequencing. Other responsibilities include managing unpaid interns to carry out some delegated tasks of my position and writing genotyping reports.

A short term internship designed to teach me Unix and Command Line by completing a genomic analysis project. The project entailed manipulating the genomes of three different plants (rice, tomato, and Arabidopsis) in command line in order to create a datasets composed of all the 1kb upstream sequences of every gene in all three genomes. The second part of the project was analyzing these sequences to find common motifs which would add more detail the gene network of the three plants.

The Genome Hunters Project was an extension of Dr. Nord's research on halophilic archaea that focused on genomic analysis of samples gathered from three different locations. I was assigned to come up with my own project stemming from a small curiosity we came across while looking the sample genomes. I spent 3 months writing code and doing research in order to discover more about these novel genomes. At the projects completion, I created a slideshow to present my results to the other members and other UC Davis faculty.

Instructed educational activities for K to 5th grade children in small group sizes (10-15). I managed their behavior to resolve conflict and promote a positive learning environment. Healthy communication with parents and nannies to learn details about the child was essential for ensuring the child's' satisfaction and growth.

I tutored individuals and small groups in the subjects of biology, chemistry, and mathematics. I also mentores and informed new/incoming students of campus resources, good study skills, and other important information.

I checked out books, movies, laptops, and other miscellaneous items to students and faculty using clear and amicable communication. I carried out work projects with efficient accuracy and maintained a high level of organization throughout the library shelves.

I facilitated small group workshops and created appropriate practice quizzes for the students. I also coached individual students who needed extra help due to learning difficulties.

I was one of the first students to join the Youth Project extension of the One People One Reef conservation and marine research that opened at the Cabrillo College campus. Our mission was to extract DNA from fish samples collected by the local people in the Micronesian Islands. A lof of organizational work and effort was put into establishing protocols and efficiency in the lab. After sending the DNA off to get sequences, we used computer programs like R Studio and Geneious to analyze the genetic sequences and build phylogenetic trees. This data was used to support the local fishing practices of the natives in Micronesia.
