• Review and analyze customer specifications pertaining to design of power transformers from 5 to 60 MVA base and up to 138,000V, including but not limited to:o Units with LTC/Non-LTC’so Non-Conservator and Conservator unitso Oil Filled and Dry Type transformers.• Design validation using Finite Element Analysis on Solidworks Simulation.• Administration of PDM software.• Work with other departments to plan engineering schedule based on job requirements, lead time and workforce capacity. • Plan, design, and develop engineering tools for the mechanical design process resulting in time reduction and quality improvement.• Assist Mechanical and Control Design Engineers with technical and administrative matters.• Meet with customers to discuss any technical concern related to mechanical design.• Coordinate between design and production teams to ensure our product meets a reliable high level of quality.

• Mechanical Design of oil filled 3 phase Transformers according to ANSI and CSA specifications, capacities from 5 to 60 MVA base, up to 138,000 V, including LTC and Conservator type units, using design software on 3D as SolidWorks and AutoCAD and developing Bills of Materials.• Outline drawings and nameplates for new transformers designs based on customer requirements and applicable industry standards.• Use and knowledge of transformer components as Load Tap Changers (LTC), Radiators, Bushings, Arresters, Control Devises (Pressure Vacuum Gauge, Liquid Level Gauge, Oil Temperature Gauge, Pressure Relief Device, etc.).• Engineering calculations as stress analysis, heat transfer, coolant fluid levels, etc.• Finite Element Analysis for validation of designs using Solidworks Simulation.• Knowledge of transformer remanufacture components and requirements.• Support on customer queries and changes.

• Follow up of the activities related with the education program, evaluation of equipment, laboratories, assignment of teachers to each subject.• Full time teacher with the following subjects: Machines & Mechanisms, Tribology, Materials Properties, Metal Manufacturing Processes.

• Analysis and optimization of designs for cost reduction.• New products introduction, design, manufacture and validation.• Mechanical Design of Oil filled and Dry Transformers according to ANSI and CSA specifications, from100 to 10,000 KVA, 120 up to 69,000 V, using design software on 3D as SolidWorks and AutoCAD anddeveloping Bills of Materials.• Development of customer drawings (Outlines), for customer approvals.• Responsible of the release of drawing packages for shop manufacturing and follow up to the activitiesrelated to mechanical design.• Engineering calculations as stress analysis, heat transfer, coolant fluid levels, etc.• Finite Element Analysis for validation of designs using Solidworks Simulation.

•Internship in the Design Department•Documentation of tools and fixtures using CAD software as Unigraphics NX.•Developing drawings in accordance to the ASME Y14.5M standards.
