In my most recent position, I led a five-member team in the management of all accounting functions for the parent company and four subsidiaries of a company providing communications technology for the corrections industry. I created and monitored an 18-month rolling forecast and conducted variance analysis. To help accurately assess the cost of sale and profitability for all accounts, I generated individual P&L analysis for 250 customers. I estimated equipment installation costs to project return on investment (ROI) for potential sales. I also managed intercompany account reconciliation, month- and year-end closings, depreciation and amortization schedules, and sales tax audits as well as prepared monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, P&L statements, cash flow, and schedules of general ledger accounts.My accomplishments in this position included:♦ Reducing the month-end closing form 20 days to five days through an emphasis on staff training and the reorganization of employee tasks. ♦ Augmenting business analysis with the creation of a Financial Reporting Package providing details on P&L by customer, partner, and product.♦ Implementing new report writing software to optimize key financial reports and provide better information to help the management team plan and analyze business performance.♦ Identifying an incorrectly installed inventory module in ERP system and corrected the error to reconcile and adjust inventory accounts so system and physical counts balanced.

I oversaw accounting functions and managed the A/P and A/R staff for an electronics hardware manufacturing company specializing in digital audio/video connectivity. I created and monitored the annual budget and an 18-month rolling forecasts to effectively manage cash flow and accurately project product, channel and regional revenue. To help with overall strategic planning, I calculated quarterly reserves, cap overhead, return reserve, warranty reserve, and various metrics (DSO, DPO, DSI, and CCC). I consolidated financial statements for acquired German company and managed and reconciled restructuring and exit costs for the calculation of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA). I also reconciled the balance sheet and intercompany accounts, conducted quarterly variance analysis, and coordinated month-end close cycle as well as prepared financial statements, gross margin reports, and ad hoc reporting to aid business analysis.My accomplishments in this position included: ♦ Partnering with IT to streamline the accounts payable invoice vouchering process, removing repetitive steps and reducing processing time by 50%.♦ Automating the Corporate Reporting Package, reducing the reporting process from 3 days to 4 hours.♦ Implementing a cloud-based reporting system to transmit financial statements to the corporate accounting department.♦ Designing a template for allocation of selling general and administrative (SG&A) expenses among multiple departments.♦ Earning fast-track promotions in recognition of excellent performance.♦ Achieving recognition as Employee of the Month in May 2012 and August 2013.

In this position, I managed accounting and financial analysis activities for a firm providing managed healthcare programs. I built the budget and collaborated with the owner to provide financial analysis that supported business planning. I determined the appropriate distribution of overhead expansion costs between three companies. I also maintained financial records, prepared month-end closing, coordinated payroll processing, reconciled approximately 20 accounts, and created multiple financial reports.My accomplishments in this position included: ♦ Preparing the budget to support the analysis of a potential expansion that would quadruple the size of the company.♦ Creating business expansion plans to aid in acquisition of new customers.♦ Developing a customized rate for a prospective client, resulting in a $1M sale.♦ Designing a Book of Business to catalog clients by service purchased to accurately identify service costs to company.♦ Augmenting the underwriting process with P&Ls for individual clients and assignment of overhead costs as percentage of revenue.♦ Spearheading the implementation of a new cost accounting methodology to meet new federal requirements.
