Oct 2021 - Nov 2022

Business Officer

Huntingdon, England, United Kingdom

In this role, I provide administrative support within the family safeguarding service as part of a small team. My core responsibilities are meeting the changing needs of social workers and actioning their email requests to the team, minuting family safeguarding supervisions and PLO meetings accurately and effectively, and making service changes as and when their need is identified. This role requires a high level of organisation and strong stakeholder management skills to build up positive relationships with social workers and team managers. I have built up a high level of service knowledge and endeavour to keep this as up to date as possible to ensure I can provide direction to social workers on urgent and pressing issues. To balance the inbox requests, monthly family safeguarding supervisions and PLO minute requests, this role requires a high level of organisation and time management skills. In this role, I created an excel VBA sheet which drastically improves the speed in which financial requests can be authorised by senior management. This also guarantees the requests are filled out consistently and in their entirety. This has been rolled out to the Huntingdon family safeguarding teams and assessment team with a view to further roll this out to the local area after a period of beta testing. The direct effect on service users of this change is there are now no delays due to request forms not being filled out properly and allows critical funds to be delivered quicker. For my excel sheet, for quickly actioning requests and for going above and beyond to assist when social workers were experiencing technical difficulties, I was awarded a Business Support Star award for 2021 after five months in post.

As a business developer, my main tasks were sourcing leads, making cold calls and qualifying prospects. I would pitch CFOs and directors of small to mid-cap businesses trade finance and foreign exchange. I was the second highest biller in the office in a very saturated market.
