I was promoted to manage both day-to-day operations (in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment) and long-term planning for UP’s Albina and Brooklyn intermodal facilities. Here, I lead a team of 18 direct reports and 100+ contract employees, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional service within a high-volume environment. I oversee resource allocation, budget, transportation scheduling, supply chain, employee training, contract acquisition, safety and continuous improvement initiatives.✔ Led the consolidation of UP’s two Portland intermodal facilities. Formally recognized by management for contributions in planning and directing all of the physical and transportation requirements involved in the consolidation.✔ Surpassed all performance goals while operating the Brooklyn facility over capacity through a period in which UP experienced an unanticipated surge in volume. ✔ Played an integral role in the development and rollout of intermodal terminal management software. Helped conceptualize and create UP’s next generation ITOS software, then continued on as a subject matter expert.
