- Monitor fire extinguishers and perform monthly, annual, 6-year, and 12-year maintenance.- Perform Monthly inspections, per NFPA requirements.• Check the test and maintenance dates.• Weigh extinguisher. (CO2)• Visually inspect pressure gauge (when applicable).• Remove discharge hose and inspect valve assembly.• Check CO2 hoses for continuity (when applicable).• Clean extinguisher.• Attach a new certification tag.• Ensure customer understands completed work.- Perform Annual inspections, per NFPA requirements.This maintenance includes an annual external examination of all extinguishers, its purpose is to:• Catch signs of physical damage or any corrosion that may be present.• Determine if the nozzle has become blocked.• Ensure that the operating instructions are still on the unit, facing forward and able to be clearly read.• Check that the HMIS is present.• Fix any issues which are discovered.- Order new fire extinguishers if any extinguisher(s) is/are to fail either Monthly or Annual inspection.
