Michael L. Jones, President & Geologist, Charger Exploration, L.L.C.Mike has more than twenty years of experience as an independent geologist exploring for oil and gas and consulting in the Gulf Coast of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Mike's primary focus has always been on generating high quality oil and gas prospects in the prolific Frio-Vicksburg trend, primarily in Refugio, San Patricio and Nueces Counties in South Texas. In 2018, Mike partnered with geologist Jeff Allen to shoot a 56 square mile 3D seismic program in San Patricio County which we are currently generating prospects and drilling successful wells on.Prior to founding Charger Exploration, L.L.C. in 2010, Mike worked as a retainer geologist with Scout Petroleum, L.L.C. prospecting in South Texas from 2003 to 2010.In addition to generating prospects of his own, Mike frequently consults for a variety of companies working the Gulf Coast. Clients and projects have included Louisiana salt dome development work with Linc Energy, Gulf of Mexico production sales with The Oil & Gas Asset Clearinghouse, Southeast Texas well evaluation with Hunt Exploration & Mining, field development work in Louisiana and Mississippi with Radiant Oil & Gas, and prospect generation mainly in East Texas for Davis Holdings.Mike is an active member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Houston Geological Society (HGS), Corpus Christi Geological Society (CCGS), Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (SIPES), Onshore Exploration Independents (OEI) and Houston Chief Geologists. He has held a number of executive level positions on the Boards of Directors of the HGS, Gulf Coast Geological Library, SIPES-Houston Chapter and SIPES National Board of Directors. Currently, Mike is the 2023 SIPES-Houston Chapter National Director.
