"Evolve or Be Extinct" - has there been any truer words for working in social media? Like a tsunami that domineers the coast or the gentle waves that smooth our cliffs, the digital landscape is ever-changing, forcing us—for better or worse—to adapt, to grow, to learn...and to fail. As social media continues washing over us, bits and pieces of us fall away to make way for something or someone new; It's a process that no matter how much you can try to resist it human nature will prevail. What does that mean for you or your company? That depends, do you want to be lost under the tsunami or admired for your evolution? In my 4+ years of experience, managing over 30 social media accounts in various industries, the myth of the Social Media "Guru" or "Expert" is thankfully dying. To be an "expert" in social media is to be the human equivalent of "your device is ready for an update."There is no one size fits all to content creation or platform management, so I will never be a Social Media "Guru," but I am a Creator, a Connector, a Researcher, and a Learner with a deep appreciation for centering content around human experiences and pain points of any industry no matter how broad, niche, trendy, or unknown it may be. My passions range from content creation, pop culture, language learning (Spanish and Korean), and graphic design, to reading, breakfast, gaming, and BTS.
