In this role, I have designed and implemented production-grade software and robotic systems (and software to interface with the robots). I have been pushing our team to practice more agile methodologies such as 'SCRUM' and have worked with perforce Helix Core to manage the versions of code. I have had the opportunity to learn the best practices for obtaining and documenting requirements and for ensuring that all of my changes are linked to the necessary requirements. While in this role I have taken on the unofficial title of 'Software Team Project Manager' as I have been managing the projects for the software team from 6/6/2024 to 12/31/2024. This has allowed me to obtain a perspective from a supervisory standpoint and exercise my inner tactician to ensure our projects are completed on time. I've been managing my own projects as well as delegating tasks within the projects to the other team members. Between 8/26/2024 and 11/15/2024, our team was reduced due to unfortunate circumstances outside of my control. Some members went back to school, one member had a new addition to the family then entered maternity leave. We went from five software team members to one. Managing that transition has been very enlightening and insightful but also very challenging. I am glad to report that we have two key projects and both are still on-time. I look forward to once again expand the team should the opportunity arise to help balance the workload once again. In the meantime, I have been delegating required tasks to other departments and external team members (external from the software team) to ensure our projects stay on track.

In my role as software technician, I have performed many engineering level tasks such as developing robotic cells, improving automation within the plant, and developing and deploying new production grade software packages to the manufacturing facility. I've learned a great deal about standardization and have developed and implemented some electrical cobot side panel standards to ensure the cobots are capable of being 'hot-swapped' when necessary. Specifically, I have been working with universal robotics UR10 and UR5 model cobots and developing .net framework WPF (using C# code) applications to communicate with these cobots.

During my time as a technical intern, I have played a part in the engineering and the development of production grade software and manufacturing processes. In this time I have learned a great deal about writing professional-grade software and the risks associated with deployment of this software.The first day in this role, I fully built and designed a windows application using the windows presentation foundation (WPF) .net framework application with C# code in the background. This role provided me with what I needed to grow my skills with software.
