Operated all heavy equipment such as D-9 Dozers, graders, pans, Dump trucks, Backhoes etc. Transitioned over to a 91b heavy and light technician performing maintenance and repair for the 149th vertical Company. Held positions while deployed as shop foreman and Motor Sergeant. Trained and supported junior soldiers under my command. Deployed in 2008-2009 with the 149th as a Combat Engineer 12 Bravo. Responsible for Route Clearance in Afghanistan for 1 year with over 500 IED's being found and destroyed.
Fob Salerno/Kandahar Afghanistan
I was selected by the Theatre Project Lead to take over as the site lead in FOB Kandahar Afghanistan. The project was labeled as UIK( underbelly improvement kit) designed for our MAT-V variant used by the war fighter. The project consisted of ensuring that all vehicles were properly brought up to the highest mechanical standard before the Improvement kit was installed. Once the armor kits were installed, they were checked for Quality assurance and performance then turned over to the government to be returned to the proper units. This was all about survivability for the soldier. It entailed knowing how to set up a production line facility and implement the lean 6 process for maximum cost effectiveness and parts usage. The overall result was an excellent product that saved the lives of many personnel. I am very proud to have been a part of this accomplishment. Completed all vehicles under contract plus supported the RPG net installs of all M-ATV'S on ground. 8100 total from North and South regions across Afghanistan. My region was RC south. Overall tour in Afghanistan was 6 years. Promoted to Bagram Site lead where finished my tour in 2012 to 2013.

Program Site lead in Afghanistan for the (UIK) Under Armor Improvement kit program in FOB Salerno. Hand selected by the Theater lead and Program Manager Rick Ford from Oshkosh to establish facilities and procedures for the installs. At the time we had no official documents or working procedures in hand, so all vehicles were done as a bay build. Our team worked under this umbrella for several months until completion starting from July 2010 through February 2011. Our efforts were recognized by SOCOM, Big Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force with a rating of outstanding. Issued citation from those units along with coins. JPO also recognized our teams efforts as well with a ceremony and awards to reflect the successful operation built from the ground up.
Worked as WG-10 Technician at the CSMS Facility located at Frankfort Kentucky. Repaired and troubleshot all military equipment in a 4 state radius. Worked in Quality Assurance ensuring all equipment met or exceeded the required standard.
