Primary Role- Helped manage and administrate a Database and Data Protection Platform solution.- Administrated 40+ secure physical and virtual appliances, including user management,hardware and software checks, creation of system reports to closelymonitor increases in infrastructure and system load.- Monitored, escalated security and maintenance SIEM tickets to appropriate internalteams alongside raising solution PMR tickets with Supplier. Included the testing ofcustomer specific patches in a parallel development environment.- Identify and recommend improvements on system configuration, useand expansion of system capabilities.- Working with Networks and DBA teams to troubleshoot and bring new services onlineSecondary roles- Advising colleagues on internal audit capture team, including:- Identifying illicit behaviour from Splunk and other tool logs.- Advising on the limitations or risks of novel technologies. e.g. dark web, disposablemailboxes, personal VPNs, data exfiltration methods.- Perform Internal Threat risk analyses assessing the threats, risks and potential controlsapplicable for exceptionally sensitive systems in light of their move into Cloud services.

- Started on Cyber Security Graduate scheme, rotating through various areas of theSecurity Delivery department of the HMRC Account. Rotations included:- Security Architecture team, where I revised and updated a vulnerability managementtool alongside its processes, to better inform the client of vulnerability risk and to align itwith the updated CVSSv3 standard.- Security Assurance team, assisted in ISO27001 sweeps and reviews of the HMRCAccount infrastructure and premises.- Final post found on the Guardium admin team, at that time serviced by Capgemini.This included collaborating with the client to help oversee an edition upgrade to a Database and Data Protection solution alongside all the duties listed in the Primary Role of my HMG post detailed above.
