Software Engineering Manager
CurrentOversees the design, development, and maintenance of software applications for a company committed to creating dynamic payroll and benefit management solutions for the construction industry. Directs the work of 8 Software Engineers and Developers, prioritizes and schedules work tasks, supports the continued development and enhancement of new and existing applications across multiple platforms, and oversees the development of software development projects. Leverages continually process improvement philosophy to establish best practices, optimize efficiency, and support organizational initiatives. Collaborates with cross-functional teams including Product Management and Quality Assurance to ensure the timely delivery of software solutions, creates project plans, designs and documents systems, and manages and maintains technical processes for producing, testing, and integrating code. Partners with Recruiting and Human Resources to source, attract, and retain key talent.HIGHLIGHTS:★ Spearheaded transformation of large monolithic applications into smaller modular applications, significantly improving the build and debugging processes.★ Recipient of one of the organization’s first ‘Tour de Bacon’ awards due to extraordinary contribution to the organization including building modular systems, mentoring personnel, and building the iOS and Android mobile apps.★ Serves as subject matter expert and cross-departmental liaison to align project goals and resolve client issues.★ Leverages deep technical knowledge and strong leadership skills to create positive culture and enhance employee engagement, conducting regular one-on-one meetings with Software Engineers resulting in company’s lowest turnover rate.
