Resident Advisors are responsible for carrying out the mission of the department by assisting with the development of community on their floors and within their hall(s). The RA is a student leader who lives in the residence halls and is an integral position in the Department of Housing and Residence Life. The RA position has a variety of responsibilities including, but not limited to, role model, community leader, educator, administrator, helper and team member.

Building Managers are responsible for managing the Student Union and Cone Center facilities and overseeing the student operations team consisting of the Info Desk Specialist, the AV Technician, the Production Assistant, Movie Theater Technician, Art Gallery Attendants, Loading Dock Assistants and/or Office, Information, and Retail Assistants (Cone) while on shift. Building Managers work plan is divided into three parts: Supervision, Building & Event Management, Customer Service

Production Assistants are responsible for providing direct customer assistance and event support within the Student Union. This support includes but is not limited to: room set ups according to space assignment instructions, various cleaning tasks within event spaces using environmentally safe cleaning chemicals, operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums, wiping, mopping, squeegeeing, emptying trash and assisting with minor room maintenance tasks as needed, meeting & greeting customers and guests and offering friendly and knowledgeable customer service, acting as a liaison between customers, reservations, and building services to ensure event success, resolving all customer concerns in a timely manner, ensuring all guests are comfortable and safe, and monitoring events to ensure they are conducted within the parameters of University and Student Union policies and guidelines. Employees must be able to stand for long periods of time. Some heavy lifting is required. Attention to details and good customer service skills is essential.

Members of the BHP participate in stimulating coursework, leadership activities, career-building exercises, and community service endeavors designed to promote marketability after graduation. BHP students typically enroll in two Honors courses per semester for the duration of their college career. Classes are kept small to facilitate faculty and student interaction. BHP members also have access to a specialized Academic Advisor who ensures correct progression of the degree. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive Honors commendation at graduation.
