Chess is an organizational leader with experience in Culture Strategy, Organizational Behavior, Public Affairs, Philanthropy and Social Impact, Sustainability, Environmental Protection, and Strategic Communications. Chess is currently the Head of Social Impact at Culture Amp and Executive Director of the Culture Amp Foundation, where they focus on creating a better world of work and making the world of work more attainable. Chess is also the Senior Advisor, Strategy and Operations for Counterstream Media, a multicultural, multimedia platform focusing on stories of environmental justice. Chess was formerly the Head of Global Responsibility and People Communications at LiveRamp (NYSE), where they led a multi-department team focused on Strategic Communications, Belonging and Well-Being, Social Impact, Sustainability, Employee Experience, and Events. Before LiveRamp, Chess built People and Culture Programs at Niantic Labs (PokémonGO), Broadway Dreams Foundation, and the University of Michigan. As a researcher, Chess has engaged in field research on civic and economic fairness in public housing in Chicago, where they leveraged actors and housing development researchers to assess discrimination from landlords. Chess also worked with Media Democracy Fund and New Currents Collective on disinformation research at the intersection of media and public policy as it pertained to COVID-19 vaccine. Formerly, Chess was on the board of Girl Plus Environment, a non-profit focused on bringing more Black and Brown women, girls, and femmes into the environmental justice movement. Chess was also a Co-Organizer at Black in Environment, whose mission is to build a community for Black people in environmental spaces and highlight Black environmentalists' scholarship, activism, and engagement globally. Chess has served on the voting committee for the DC Environmental Film Festival since 2022.Chess received their Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan and is an alum of the Terra.do fellowship.
