I was born a disruptor. My earliest memory of the intersection of our shared humanity and structural systems of inequity was sleeping inside concrete building tubes in the park across the street from the White House, eating stale rice, sipping tepid water and protesting famine in Bangladesh. I was three years old. As a certified inclusion leader and forward-thinking catalyst, I’m passionate about igniting organizational transformation, creating a culture of workplace belonging and changing hearts and minds to build a better world. My record of success as a corporate consultant, nonprofit executive, public speaker and social entrepreneur spans more than 20 years from senior management roles in the arts & culture and higher education sectors to city government and grassroots organizing.I’ve helped shift cultural perspective at companies whether they are radical or resistant while working with extraordinary leaders and teams at some of the most respected brands. I’ve shared my journey on a TEDx stage, owned a community-inspired art gallery and created a nationally recognized LGBTQ marketing campaign that led to the expansion of a city-wide human rights ordinance in northeast Florida. The Allies campaign featured leading corporations, prominent executives and one of my sheroes - feminist icon Gloria Steinem, and has been recognized by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). I’m also the founder of #WhiteAndWoke™ a national initiative for white people committed to dismantling institutional and systemic racial inequality through intentional action. In my spare time, I write and make films. As executive producer of an independent documentary, "The Story of Denise," we explored the transgender experience and family acceptance. As a contributing author to the award-winning anthology “Love WITH Accountability,” we examined how to interrupt and ultimately end the inhumane epidemic of child sexual abuse, humanely. I’m currently producing a documentary short, “Why is Washington [Still] Burning that chronicles the actions of a group of 100 white and Jewish activists in support of Black people during the DC uprisings, days after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination. My mother, who is white and Jewish, was one of the lead organizers. My father was one of Dr. King’s most trusted advisors. When I’m not unleashing untapped potential, you can find me oceanside, meditating at sunrise with healing crystals, lavender oil and a stack of eclectic well-loved literature, kayaking the inter-coastal, perusing local art galleries or performing solo car karaoke.
